Saltwater Grille

"We had a lovely meal at Saltwater Grille. I had the berries and greens salad and my partner had a bowl of chowder and then we split the SWG Fisherman’s Platter. The platter was generous, we couldn’t finish it all. The sauces were good and seemed to be house-made. The salad was very tasty - fresh and crisp. The chowder was also very good. We both had a cocktail as well, saltwater sunsets. We’d go back!"

"Great service and atmosphere, killer views of Portland and the harbor, but the food could've been better. We finally made our way to Saltwater Grille, and I see now why this place is popular among locals. I can't think of another place in SoPo that offers similar views. If you sit outside, you'll get unbeatable views of Portland's Old Port and the East End, plus plenty of fancy boats. The menu was varied, and since we went for lunch, we opted for handhelds. My haddock sandwich was delicious, and the portion of fries that came with it was generous. My husband's burger was good, but he said it wasn't too memorable. The fish dip we got as an appetizer was not good; it was clearly previously frozen or something, because it was hard to even dip the crackers into it. We ended up using our oyster forks to dip the crackers instead. Definitely overpriced for what we got. Given the vibe, I totally understand why the prices run a little higher, but I'm not sure the quality of the food makes up for it."

"Amazing. We walked in and the bar alone, made me gasp lol it's a beautiful spot, right on the water. The nighttime view of the skyline was wonderful to look at while enjoying the meal. Ordered the calamari and 9 oysters, all delicious. Stuffed haddock and the pesce pasta 😍 I'm serious, treat yourself to some incredible food. Bartender was so so nice and very sweet, even though we came in kinda late (I always feel bad doing that) so thank you! If we get to visit Portland again, we will definitely be coming back 💜 (Not shown is the turtle cheesecake and carrot cake we got to go and were very good as well! Not what I expected, it's an Italian cheesecake, delicious!!)"
