Shaghf cafe

"A disclaimer, this is an Egyptian chain, not a local-based coffee joint. It is however still an excellent place to stop in Portland if you're working remote and want a nice atmosphere. The coffee syrup / flavors are all Torani, nothing is made in house. The latte was mostly milky - almost as if they used a single shot of some light roast? Hardly tasted like espresso-based. Didn't have matcha when I stopped in. It seemed they're limited to craft drinks, no cooler. LOVED that they had calorie estimates!! The cakes are the show-stoppers, however. They are NOT made in-house, and not labeled as $10 each. However, they were SO unique. They have this hard shell coating, with a soft mousse, sponge cake, and respective fruit puree inside. SO much fun - loved the flavor variety! Very nice place - we were joking however that it may or may not be a front?? In my opinion, allegedly, joking maybe. Late hours are great seeing as no other coffee shop is open this late in Portland rlly, but it is a little sus too. Employees were gone for 20+ minutes at a time, sitting down in the back lot together. When they walked in they smelled like gasoline. One of the guys was very friendly and went above and beyond to answer questions when asked, though. I can see other people being pissed about this, but I'm not a high-maintenance customer. Some other flags were noticed too ... IDK lol ... could be fun to visit and see for yourself. Would recommend for a remote work environment, not so much a coffee snob crowd or a group looking for a cafe :)"

"We got two pistachio crepes, a hot mocha, and an iced pistachio latte. Everything was good but the size of the drinks were so small, the iced latte was $9 and it was tiny, tasty but tiny. The mocha was just ok. The crepes were really good. Ignore how messy the crepe picture is, I definitely picked up the bag the wrong way."

"Pretty tasteful made design, very clean, nice fragrance smelling premise. Authentic Arabic coffee with a pinch of various flavors to choose from. If you are a real coffee fan, definitely a place to check."
